When I spoke with the team at Ready Layer One they explained to me how they had this idea of bringing some fun to NEAR NFTs.

I was intrigued, the idea being for users who wanted to buy a NEAR NFT, but didn't really know what to buy, you could play the game at Ready Degen One and let the site offer you some options.

The options you'd be presented with would depend on your choices selected during the game.

If you happened to be someone who didn't have a NEAR wallet, you could create one directly from the site using Shard Dog technology.

The site was targeting users who are familiar with NEAR but may not be familiar with NEAR NFTs. I brought up with the team that it was extremely important that we explain how the game works and how the user can play. Building trust was key to getting users to play this.

After exploring how the mechanisms worked, I put togeher a "How to play" section which clearly gets across what the user needs to do in order to play. Following the instructions on how to play was information on "How does it work?".

This content went into more detail about what the different terms meant when the user views them while playing the game.

The game itself was designed in a way to let the user make quick decisions. Some common themes in web3 are the use of icons based on Shrimp, Octopus, Dolphin and Whale. These icons give a visual cue as to what the amount selected is. I wanted to implement this into the game designs so I created some custom selection controls which highlighted once clicked.

With the game being fun, "Extra Degen Mode" was auto enabled and an information overlay was accessible to anyone who wasn't sure what that mode meant. Once the user had made their choice the call to action was enabled where the loading screen would appear to show results are being populated, followed by a results screen which presented the user with a randomised NFT choice. From here they could purchase the NFT, "Try again" or return to the game settings to update their choices,

With this being a new game, users in web3 can be cautious of connecting their wallets to sites. It was important to have informative overlays throughout the process to reassure users the meaning behind the terms. By doing this, it meant the user didn't have to go back to the homepage to find the information which would interrupt the flow.
